Harvest and Expectation
November 18, 2009By Brian A. Holmes

We live in a world that is rife with negative news, negative outlooks, negative reports, and an overall gloom and doom perspective on everything. There is a constant barrage of negative information being thrust on us. On one hand we have swine flu, and on the other we have the recession. This pundit thinks this, and another thinks that. Reporters don't really report anymore, rather, they tell us what to think and what to expect. It's almost like a weather forecast, but for your life;

"Tomorrow will be cloudy and gloomy, with about a 75% chance that something will go wrong. In addition, you can expect to be laid off, and/or have your pay cut by early afternoon as a recession front moves through your area. The extended forecast isn't any better, and you can expect your entire week to be stormy, and pretty much a mess."

Does this sound about right? Everyone telling YOU what YOU should believe and expect! Well I've had enough! Who gave THEM the right to prescribe or forecast MY destiny? God is in control of my life and destiny. As sons of God, we must operate in a Kingdom mindset. In doing so, we rise above the status quo. We elevate ourselves above the world's thinking, and choose to believe what God has said about our lives and future. What has He said?
  • You are in this world, but not of it ...
  • You are the head and not the tail ...
  • You are above and not beneath ...
  • My God shall supply ALL your needs according to His riches (His economy) ...
  • He has given you the power to make wealth ...
  • It is the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom ...
  • Seek first the Kingdom, and all these things shall be added ...
  • I could go on and on! I am a child of the Most High God. He is obligated by His Word to see to it that I am blessed. He receives pleasure and glory when I am manifesting the Kingdom in my life.
This is why we MUST take on a attitude and mindset of harvest and Kingdom expectation. I expect favor to be the order of my day. I expect good things to happen to me today. I am constantly looking for God's blessing to be manifest in me. My family is secure. My finances are enriched and blessed. People regularly seek me out to show me favor or bless me in some way. I choose to extinguish the negative voices and hear only what God is saying concerning my life and well-being. He is my source and my supply. In Him will I trust.

Today, I challenge you. KILL negativity. Don't allow yourself to slip into a mindset of famine and lack. This is your season to prosper and reap the harvest. EXPECT God's best in your life ... and you will receive it.

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."

Famine comes to everyone at sometime in their lives. If you live long enough, you will likely experience more than one season of this nature. The question is not, will I experience famine? The question is, what will you do when it comes, and what is God trying to accomplish IN YOU through the process? TO READ ENTIRE ARTICLE, CLICK TITLE ABOVE
One of the most powerful truths I've ever been exposed to is that each of us are formed after a pattern. We are made in God's image. We are crafted in His likeness. We are, as He is, tripartite beings. We are SPIRIT, SOUL, and BODY.
As I am writing this week's entry, I am flying at 32,000 feet in seat 4C, enjoying the last leg of a very long trip home. As many of you know, I spent the last 7 days in the great nation of Zimbabwe. While I went to be a part of an annual international conference, I was touched by the contrast between my first trip there 13 years ago, and now. What a difference a few years makes. The economy of this nation came to a grinding halt last year, and is just now showing signs of leveling off. While there are still many who are struggling, it is obvious that faith has carried the people there through.
